Mac Cinematic Arts Camps are script to screen camps. Campers learn the skills needed to make their own short films.

About the instructor

After retiring from the industry, Ken Rogers has been teaching the award winning Cinematic Arts program at McCallum High School and Fine Arts Academy for 12 years.

Filmmaking Camp for Teens 10–13

$250, Ages 10–13

Monday, June 24th – Friday, June 28th
9:00am – 12:30pm

Students will write, direct, shoot, and edit their own narrative driven short film rotating among crew positions for each others’ projects.

Students will get hands on experience with Blackmagic cameras, professional sound recording equipment, and professional editing software.

Snacks and beverages will be provided during the day.

Filmmaking Camp for Teens 14–18

$250, Ages 14–18

Monday, June 24th – Friday, June 28th
1:30pm – 5:00pm

Students will write, direct, shoot, and edit their own narrative driven short film rotating among crew positions for each others’ projects.

Students will get hands on experience with Blackmagic cameras, professional sound recording equipment, and professional editing software.

Snacks and beverages will be provided during the day.

Advanced Filmmaking with RED

(For students that have taken the Filmmaking Camp For Teens or any high school A/V class)

$425, Ages 14–18

Monday, July 8th – Friday, July 12th
10am – 5pm   (6 seats*)

The pace of this camp is feverish, and each student will complete a short project to be screened at the conclusion of the camp.

Students will have the opportunity to write, direct, shoot and edit in a hands-on environment.

Students get hands on experience with a RED DSMC2 Camera, professional sound and lighting equipment, and professional editing and color correction software.

Days 1&2: Intensive study in RED cinematography, lighting, screenwriting, and directing.

Days 3&4: Students shoot their individual films rotating among crew positions for each others’ projects.

Day 5: Post production

Snacks and beverages will be provided during the day. Lunch is not provided and students are required to bring a sack lunch for lunch break.
